David Lebson

David Lebson has taught 4th through 8th grade for 25 years, serving as both a science teacher and middle school advisor. He is currently in his 12th year working at The School at Columbia. In his time at The School Mr. Lebson has been a middle division advisor, taught 6th-8th grade science, and served as a Grade Level Coordinator for 6th and 8th grades. Currently he is the 8th grade science teacher and co-coordinator of the 8th grade Social Action Project curriculum. While teaching at Manhattan Country School in the mid-90s Mr. Lebson volunteered to participate in their SEED Program (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity). That experience cemented his commitment to working for equity and social justice through curriculum. In addition to his teaching, Mr. Lebson is a passionate advocate for environmental and LGBTQ+ rights. He is a long-time volunteer on the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, and spends his summers
