Dena Rothstein

Dena has been teaching at The School since 2005, when she was delighted to begin in 4th grade. She is currently team teaching 2nd grade, while doing post-graduate work at Teachers College with a focus on gender equity in the classroom. Prior to working at The School, Dena attended Princeton University, where she studied art history and wrote her thesis on Victorian children's book illustrations. Also at Princeton, she co-founded a student society that endeavored to bring the sciences and humanities together, and planned events discussing subjects that bridge the gap between the disciplines; the topics ranged from Dostoevsky and Epilepsy to Music and Math. Dena also has an avid interest in all things outdoors, and has greatly enjoyed the opportunities at The School to lead student camping trips to Black Rock Forest. Over the summer, Dena enjoys traveling and competing in triathlons.
