Our Teach21 offerings continue to center on sharing best practices with educators around the world. Our workshops are built on the progressive, constructivist philosophies we use in classrooms: support prior knowledge, differentiate instruction, flexibly group, and promote dynamic, inquiry-based learning.
 
Please join us for engaging professional development workshops this spring! Workshops will be held in person at The School at Columbia University, 556 West 110th Street, New York City on Saturday, April 20, 2024.
 
The schedule is as follows:

9:00-9:30 - Registration (in Lobby) and Breakfast (in Cafe)
9:30-11:30 - Full-Day and Half-Day Workshops Begin 
11:30-12:30 - Lunch for All Participants (in Cafe)
12:30-3:00 - Full-Day Workshops Continue
1:30-2:00 - Snack Offered (in Cafe) 
3:00 - Full-Day Workshops End

  • Exploring Trauma-Informed Classroom Practices (Half Day)

    This workshop is designed for school professionals, centered around trauma-informed school interventions. This workshop will provide an in-depth exploration of the impact of trauma on students' academic and social-emotional well-being, while offering actionable strategies and best practices to create safe and supportive learning environments. We will examine the integration of trauma-informed care, teaching techniques, emotional and behavioral regulation strategies, and self-care for school professionals. By attending this workshop, school professionals will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to foster resilience, healing, and academic success among students who have experienced trauma, ensuring that schools become places of understanding and growth for all.

  • FAB Vocab (Full Day)

    Unlock the power of words and language in this FABulous professional development session. This session is designed to elevate educators’ skills and instruction by delving into innovative instructional practices that integrate the science of reading principles, vocabulary instruction, and language fundamentals.  Discover how language at the word and sentence level can be the key to deeper learning, critical thinking, utilizing metacognitive strategies, and academic success. This will be your gateway to creating vibrant, engaging classrooms. Come, let’s shape the future together with one FABULOUS vocabulary word at a time!
